On the sacred occasion of Ram Navami, thousands of devotees gathered at Ayodhya’s Ram Janmabhoomi Temple on Sunday morning to celebrate the birth of Lord Ram. The temple, beautifully adorned with vibrant flowers and shimmering lights, became a spiritual hub for pilgrims from across the country.
As part of the tradition, many devotees took a holy dip in the sacred Saryu River before making their way to the temple to offer prayers. Ram Navami, which marks the culmination of Chaitra Navratri, is observed across India to honor the birth of Lord Ram, the seventh incarnation of Lord Vishnu.
In addition to prayers, the festival also includes a ritual of honoring young girls, representing the nine forms of Goddess Durga, by offering them gifts and prasad.
A devotee visiting the Ram Temple said, “I am feeling very good after coming here. The arrangements are very well done.” Another pilgrim who traveled from Varanasi expressed joy in being part of the celebration, saying, “I have come from Varanasi to offer prayers at Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple on the occasion of Ram Navami.”
Speaking on the security and arrangements, Additional Superintendent of Police Madhuban Singh stated, “A large number of people have come to offer prayers. Police personnel have been deployed in significant numbers to ensure safety and proper management. Adequate parking arrangements have also been made.”
Meanwhile, celebrations were also in full swing at temples across the national capital. The Jhandewalan Temple in Delhi was beautifully illuminated and decorated for the ninth day of Chaitra Navratri. A devotee shared, “This is my first time offering prayers at the Jhandewalan Temple. I feel very peaceful.” Another visitor praised the temple’s management and festive atmosphere, saying, “The arrangements are excellent, and Mata Rani is truly blessing all her devotees.”
Morning Aarti was also performed at Chhatarpur’s Shri Aadya Katyayani Shaktipith Mandir, with devotees participating in the spiritual rituals and celebrations, reflecting the deep devotion and cultural unity seen across the country on this auspicious day.
